Members of Moosehorn ARC took part in ARRL’s annual Field Day event on Saturday and Sunday, June 22nd & 23rd. The fun began Saturday morning at 7 am, when the early birds met at the King Salmon Inn for breakfast. After breakfast, the crew hauled the MHARC trailer, antennas, generators and other equipment out to the Skyview High School parking lot in Soldotna. MHARC hams operated throughout the night, making a total of 140 contacts on CW and SSB. Several visiting hams and other folks just wanting to find out more about ham radio also dropped in. More than 60 people, including MHARC members, attended!
Thank you to all the volunteers, especially Field Day chairman Rich Strand, KL7RA. Also, a big thank you to Rashah McChesney from the Peninsula Clarion for covering the event.
Here are some photos from Field Day 2013 taken by Tom Clyde, KL3TC.

Vic Hett, KL7VIC, roughing it in the CW-only tent. Another CW position operated from trailer when Vic wasn’t on the air.
