D. Old Business:
Discussed the Kenai Peninsula Hamfest. Attendance was down from last year, but we did end up with a small positive balance.
Good turnout at the annual club picnic. Thanks to Vic and Joan for being such gracious hosts.
The Nome amateur radio club will be supplying us with a Pactor III modem for Winlink operation. It will be installed at the Soldotna EOC station. The modem will be on “permanent loan” from the Nome club.
No one had researched possible club call-signs. Please come to the September meeting with suggestions so we can continue the discussion.
E. New Business:
Moosehorn A.R.C. was mentioned in the August edition of QST magazine for its participation in Alaska Shield 2014.
The ARRL Section Emergency Test (SET) is coming up October 11th. More information to follow.
Bill handed over the club records to President John for his safekeeping. John will sort through the paperwork and see what records need to be saved and what can be archived.
If anyone found a pair of glasses during Hamfest they probably belong to Ron, W8PVZ.
A new dual-band antenna has been constructed for the Soldotna EOC. If anyone has some RG-8 coax they can donate, we’ll put the antenna up. Otherwise, we’ll buy some coax.
No further business was brought forward and the meeting was adjourned.
